Samsung Galaxy S5 is better than Xperia X Performance, having a overall score of 80.8 against 72.3. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is an older phone than Xperia X Performance, but it is somewhat lighter and a bit thinner anyway. Galaxy S5 counts with a sharper screen than Xperia X Performance, and although they both have an equal 1920 x 1080 resolution, the Galaxy S5 also has a greater pixel amount per display inch and a bit larger screen.

The Galaxy S5 features a little bit better hardware performance than Xperia X Performance, and although they both have the same number of cores and 3 GB of RAM, the Galaxy S5 also has an extra graphics co-processor. The Galaxy S5 shoots much better videos and photos than Xperia X Performance, although it has a tinier camera sensor giving a lower image quality, a tinier aperture which is not favorable for low-light images and videos and a camera in the back with a lot lower resolution.

Sony Xperia X Performance features a bit bigger storage for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy S5, and although they both have equal 32 GB internal storage capacity, the Sony Xperia X Performance also has a SD memory card expansion slot that allows a maximum of 200 GB. The Galaxy S5 counts with just a bit better battery life than Xperia X Performance, because it has a 2800mAh battery size against 2700mAh.
