The Huawei Mate 20 is slightly better than Sony Xperia X, with a 79.5 score against 72.9. The Huawei Mate 20 design is notably newer, but a little thicker and somewhat heavier than Sony Xperia X. The Huawei Mate 20 has a little more vivid display than Xperia X, because although it has a just a little lower screen pixels density, it also counts with a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2244px and a larger screen.
The Huawei Mate 20 counts with a bit better processing power than Xperia X, because it has a higher number of cores and more RAM memory. Xperia X captures clearer pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same (Full HD) video definition and a 0.43 inches sensor, the Xperia X also counts with a much better resolution camera and higher 60 fps video frame rate.

Huawei Mate 20 counts with a very superior battery performance than Sony Xperia X, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity against 2620mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 20 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Xperia X, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xperia X. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy Xperia X, letting go a few specs and features, but you will get the most out of your savings.
