The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is slightly better than the Xperia X, having a 76.3 score against 72.9. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha body is thinner and lighter than the Xperia X. Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a bit better looking screen than Xperia X, although it has a way worse 1280 x 720 resolution, a lot lesser pixels per inch of screen and a bit smaller display.
Galaxy Alpha counts with a bit faster CPU than Xperia X, because although it has lesser processing cores and a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with an additional graphics processor. Sony Xperia X has a much better memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same 32 GB internal storage capacity, the Sony Xperia X also has a SD card slot that allows a maximum of 200 GB.
The Xperia X has a much better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has a 41 percent greater battery size. The Xperia X captures a little bit better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same (Full HD) video quality, the Xperia X also has a bigger aperture to take better low-light captures and videos, better video frame rate and a back facing camera with much more mega pixels.
Although Galaxy Alpha is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Xperia X, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xperia X. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Xperia X, giving up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
