Comparison review

The Galaxy S5 has an overall score of 80.8, which is better than the Xperia X's 72.9 score. Galaxy S5 is an older and a little thicker device than the Xperia X, but Samsung was able to make it a little bit lighter anyway. The Galaxy S5 features a little bit better performance than Xperia X, because although it has an inferior number of cores (although faster), and they both have 3 GB of RAM memory, the Galaxy S5 also counts with an extra graphics processor.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 counts with a more vivid display than Sony Xperia X, and although they both have the same 1920 x 1080 resolution, the Samsung Galaxy S5 also has more pixels per inch of display and a bit bigger screen. Xperia X counts with slightly more storage capacity to install applications and games than Galaxy S5, and although they both have the same 32 GB internal storage, the Xperia X also has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 200 GB.

Xperia X takes a bit better photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy S5, and although they both have the same video resolution, the Xperia X also has a back facing camera with way more megapixels, a larger diafragm aperture for better low light photos and video, a larger back camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and better 60 fps video frame rates.

Samsung Galaxy S5 counts with a bit better battery performance than Sony Xperia X, because it has 2800mAh of battery capacity.

Although Samsung Galaxy S5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xperia X, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xperia X. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Samsung Galaxy S5, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the Xperia X, giving up some features and specifications.
