The HTC One M9 has an overall score of 77.7, which is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus's 73.7 overall score. These phones come with Android operating system, but HTC One M9 has the older 5.0 version while Sony Xperia XA1 Plus has Android 8.0 Oreo. Even though the HTC One M9 is extremely older and thicker than the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus, it's construction is still somewhat lighter.

The HTC One M9 counts with a bit better CPU than Xperia XA1 Plus, and although they both have the same number of cores and the same RAM amount, the HTC One M9 also has a 64-bit CPU and an additional graphics processing unit. HTC One M9 has a more vivid display than Xperia XA1 Plus, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have the same exact 1920 x 1080 resolution, the HTC One M9 also counts with a bit greater pixel density.

The HTC One M9 counts with just a bit better camera than Xperia XA1 Plus, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not good for shooting pictures and video in poorly lited environments, a back camera with a worse resolution and a smaller back camera sensor capturing less light and dull colors, it also counts with a way higher 3840x2160 (4K) video quality.

The Xperia XA1 Plus counts with a slightly better storage capacity to store more apps and games than HTC One M9, and although they both have exactly the same 32 GB internal memory capacity, the Xperia XA1 Plus also has a slot for external memory cards that holds up to 256 GB. Xperia XA1 Plus features greater battery life than HTC One M9, because it has a 3430mAh battery size instead of 2840mAh.

Even being the best phone of the ones we compare here, HTC One M9 is also by far the cheapest one.
