The Galaxy J7 Max is just a bit better than Xperia XA1 Plus, having a general score of 76.1 against 73.7. Both devices in this review use Android OS, but Galaxy J7 Max has older 7.0 Nougat version while Xperia XA1 Plus has Android 8.0 Oreo version. The Galaxy J7 Max is a just a bit thinner and just a bit lighter phone than the Xperia XA1 Plus, even when they were released only 3 months apart.
Galaxy J7 Max's CPU is very similar to Sony Xperia XA1 Plus's CPU, and although the Galaxy J7 Max has more RAM memory, they both have a Octa-Core CPU. Sony Xperia XA1 Plus has a slightly better display than Galaxy J7 Max, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have the same resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus also counts with a just a little better pixel density.
The Galaxy J7 Max has as much memory to store more apps and games as Xperia XA1 Plus, both of them have equal 32 GB internal storage and a SD memory card expansion slot that allows a maximum of 256 GB. The Xperia XA1 Plus features a bit better battery performance than Galaxy J7 Max, because it has a 3430mAh battery size.
Xperia XA1 Plus has a slightly better camera than Samsung Galaxy J7 Max, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same video definition, the Xperia XA1 Plus also counts with a back camera with much more MP.
