Comparison review
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a score of 76, which is a little bit better than the Xperia XA1 Plus's 73.7 score. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 construction is somewhat thinner and lighter than the Xperia XA1 Plus, although it was released around 11 months before. Both of these devices have Android OS (Operating System), but the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has the previous 6.0 Marshmallow version while Xperia XA1 Plus has Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Xperia XA1 Plus counts with a little bit better display than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has a little smaller display, and they both have the same 1080 x 1920 resolution, the Xperia XA1 Plus also counts with a little bit better screen density. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 counts with a greater memory capacity for apps and games than Xperia XA1 Plus, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 96 GB more internal memory.
The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus counts with a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has less RAM memory, it also counts with 4 more cores (but slower). The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 counts with better battery performance than Xperia XA1 Plus, because it has a 4070mAh battery capacity against 3430mAh.
The Xperia XA1 Plus takes much clearer photographs and videos than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and although they both have the same (Full HD) video quality, the same video frame rate, a same size aperture and a same resolution camera in the back, the Xperia XA1 Plus also has a larger back-facing camera sensor which gives a better image and video quality.
Although Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is a better device, it costs more than the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Sony Xperia XA1 Plus. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Xiaomi Mi Note 2, else you can save some money and buy the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus, resigning a couple specs and features.
