Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a score of 76, which is a bit better than the Xperia XA1's 71.7 score. Although the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and the Xperia XA1 were released with only 6 months difference, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 construction is a bit thinner but also heavier. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a little sharper screen than Xperia XA1, because it has a way higher 1080 x 1920px resolution, a quite larger screen and more pixels per inch of display.
The Sony Xperia XA1 has a bit more powerful processing unit than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, it also counts with a larger number of cores. The Xperia XA1 features a much better camera than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and although they both have a camera with a 23 megapixels resolution, the same diafragm aperture, the same video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Xperia XA1 also has a larger back camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a quite bigger storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Xperia XA1, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory capacity. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a much better battery performance than Xperia XA1, because it has a 77% greater battery size.
Although Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Sony Xperia XA1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Sony Xperia XA1. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy Sony Xperia XA1, giving up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
