The Galaxy A8 (2018) is just a bit better than the Xperia XA2 Plus, having a 79.2 score against 78.6. Galaxy A8 (2018) is a somewhat thinner and somewhat lighter phone than the Xperia XA2 Plus, although both were released with only a few months difference. Xperia XA2 Plus counts with a little sharper display than Galaxy A8 (2018), because although it has a little less pixels per inch of screen and a little worse 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution, it also counts with a bit bigger display.

The Xperia XA2 Plus has a little bit better memory for games and applications than Galaxy A8 (2018), and although they both have equal internal memory, the Xperia XA2 Plus also has a slot for external memory cards that admits a maximum of 400 GB. The Sony Xperia XA2 Plus counts with just a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia XA2 Plus also has more RAM.

Sony Xperia XA2 Plus counts with greater battery life than Galaxy A8 (2018), because it has a 19% more battery capacity. The Sony Xperia XA2 Plus shoots much better videos and photos than Galaxy A8 (2018), because although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for shooting pictures and/or video in poorly lited situations, it also counts with a way better 23 mega pixels resolution back facing camera and a lot better (4K) video definition.
