The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, with a 79.8 score against 78.1. Despite of the fact Sony Xperia XZ Premium is noticeably older and just a bit heavier than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, it's construction is still somewhat thinner. The Xperia XZ Premium has a much sharper screen than Galaxy XCover 5, because it has way more pixels per inch in the screen, a little bigger display and a way better 2160 x 3840 resolution.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium has a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5. Both have 8 cpu cores and the same RAM amount. The Galaxy XCover 5 counts with a very superior storage to install games and applications than Xperia XZ Premium, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal storage, the Galaxy XCover 5 also has a slot for an external memory card that allows up to 1 TB.
Xperia XZ Premium captures much clearer photographs and videos than Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has a smaller camera aperture, it also counts with a much higher 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a higher 19 megapixels resolution camera in the back. The Xperia XZ Premium features a bit longer battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because it has a 3230mAh battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.
