Comparison review

The HTC One M9 has an overall score of 77.7, which is just a bit better than the Sony Xperia XZ's 73.5 general score. The HTC One M9 is an older and somewhat thicker device than Sony Xperia XZ, but HTC managed to build it just a bit lighter anyway. The HTC One M9 counts with a better CPU than Xperia XZ, and although they both have a 3 GB RAM memory, the HTC One M9 also has a 64-bit CPU, a larger number of cores (but slower) and an additional GPU.

HTC One M9 has a better looking display than Sony Xperia XZ, because although it has a little smaller display, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the HTC One M9 also counts with a quite greater screen density. Xperia XZ takes a bit better pictures and videos than HTC One M9, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ also has a more megapixels back camera, a larger sensor taking higher quality videos and pictures and a bigger aperture.

The Sony Xperia XZ features a slightly bigger storage for applications and games than HTC One M9, and although they both have equal internal storage, the Sony Xperia XZ also has an external memory card slot that supports up to 256 GB. Xperia XZ has a bit superior battery performance than HTC One M9, because it has a 2 percent bigger battery capacity.

Even being the best phone of the ones in this comparison, the HTC One M9 is also by far the cheapest.
