Comparison review
Huawei Mate 8 has a general score of 77.4, which is slightly better than the Xperia XZ's 73.5 overall score. Huawei Mate 8 is an older and somewhat heavier phone than Xperia XZ, but Huawei managed to make it just a little bit thinner anyway. Xperia XZ features just a bit better screen than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have the same resolution of 1080 x 1920, the Xperia XZ also counts with a little bit higher count of pixels per inch in the display.
The Huawei Mate 8 has a much bigger storage capacity for applications and games than Sony Xperia XZ, because although it has a SD memory slot that allows a maximum of 128 GB against 256 GB, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory capacity. The Huawei Mate 8 has just a bit better performance than Xperia XZ, because it has a larger number of cores and a larger amount of RAM.
The Sony Xperia XZ counts with a better camera than Huawei Mate 8, and although they both have a same size aperture, the Sony Xperia XZ also has a much higher 3840x2160 video resolution and a much more mega pixels camera. The Huawei Mate 8 has a superior battery lifetime than Sony Xperia XZ, because it has a 38 percent more battery capacity.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Sony Xperia XZ, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Sony Xperia XZ. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get the Sony Xperia XZ, giving up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
