Comparison review

Motorola Moto Z3 Play is a little bit better than the Xperia XZ, with a global score of 76.3 against 73.5. The Motorola Moto Z3 Play body is newer, thinner and just a little lighter than Xperia XZ. Xperia XZ has a little bit better looking screen than Moto Z3 Play, because although it has a little smaller display and a little bit worse resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, it also counts with a just a bit higher screen density.

The Moto Z3 Play counts with a way bigger storage capacity to store more games and applications than Xperia XZ, because it has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB and 32 GB more internal memory. Motorola Moto Z3 Play has a processing unit that's just as good as the Sony Xperia XZ one, although the Motorola Moto Z3 Play also has a greater amount of RAM and 4 more cores.

The Moto Z3 Play has just a bit longer battery performance than Xperia XZ, because it has a 3000mAh battery size instead of 2900mAh. Xperia XZ has a bit better camera than Motorola Moto Z3 Play, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for shooting photographs and video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ also counts with a much higher 23 MP resolution camera and a bigger sensor capturing higher quality photos and videos.

Although Moto Z3 Play is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xperia XZ, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xperia XZ. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Moto Z3 Play, else you can save some money and get the Xperia XZ, letting go some features and specifications.
