Comparison review
OnePlus 9 is a bit better than Xperia XZ, with a 76 score against 73.5. The OnePlus 9 is a noticeably newer cellphone than the Xperia XZ, although it is somewhat heavier and just a bit thicker. OnePlus 9 has a bit better CPU than Sony Xperia XZ, because it has a higher amount of RAM and a greater number of cores.
OnePlus 9 counts with a little sharper screen than Xperia XZ, because although it has a little worse pixel count per inch in the display, it also counts with a little bit higher 1080 x 2400 resolution and a bigger display. The OnePlus 9 captures greater videos and photos than Sony Xperia XZ, because it has a much better 48 MP resolution camera in the back, a way bigger back-facing camera sensor providing a much better image quality, a larger aperture and a much better 7680x4320 video quality.
The OnePlus 9 has a bigger memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xperia XZ, because although it has no external memory slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage. The OnePlus 9 has a really longer battery duration than Sony Xperia XZ, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity.
Although OnePlus 9 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xperia XZ, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xperia XZ. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy OnePlus 9, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Xperia XZ, letting go some specifications.
