The Samsung Galaxy S8 has a global score of 81.7, which is better than Xperia XZ's 73.5 general score. Samsung Galaxy S8 is a a little thinner and just a little lighter device than Xperia XZ, even when both were released with only 7 months difference. Samsung Galaxy S8 has a little better hardware performance than Xperia XZ, because it has a larger amount of RAM memory and a greater number of cores.
The Galaxy S8 has a bit sharper display than Sony Xperia XZ, because it has more pixels per inch in the display, a much better 1440 x 2960px resolution and a bit larger screen. Xperia XZ takes slightly better photographs and videos than Galaxy S8, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Xperia XZ also counts with a bigger sensor providing a higher image quality and a way more mega pixels camera.
The Galaxy S8 features a very superior storage for applications and games than Sony Xperia XZ, and although they both have a SD extension slot that holds up to 256 GB, the Galaxy S8 also has 64 GB internal storage capacity. The Samsung Galaxy S8 has just a bit longer battery lifetime than Sony Xperia XZ, because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity.
