Comparison review
HTC U Ultra has a general score of 77, which is a bit better than the Xperia XZ1 Compact's 74.6 global score. The HTC U Ultra design is thinner but somewhat heavier than Xperia XZ1 Compact, and both of them were released only a few months apart. The HTC U Ultra has a sharper screen than Xperia XZ1 Compact, because it has a lot higher 1440 x 2560 resolution, way more pixels per inch of screen and a larger screen.
The HTC U Ultra has a way bigger storage for games and applications than Xperia XZ1 Compact, because it has 64 GB internal storage capacity and a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 1,95 TB. The Xperia XZ1 Compact counts with a little faster processing unit than HTC U Ultra, and although they both have a 4 GB RAM memory, the Xperia XZ1 Compact also has a larger number of faster cores.
The Xperia XZ1 Compact has just a bit better camera than HTC U Ultra, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not nice for shooting photos and/or video in low light situations, and they both have the same (4K) video quality, a 0.43 inches back camera sensor and the same video frame rates, the Xperia XZ1 Compact also counts with a way higher resolution back camera.
HTC U Ultra features just a bit longer battery duration than Xperia XZ1 Compact, because it has a 3000mAh battery size.
Although HTC U Ultra is a better device, it costs more money than Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact. So if you want that extra features, you can buy HTC U Ultra, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, giving up a couple specifications.
