Comparison review
The OnePlus 8 Pro is just a bit better than the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, getting a global score of 77.2 against 74.6. Even though OnePlus 8 Pro is a lot heavier than Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, it's somewhat thinner and also much newer. OnePlus 8 Pro has a bit superior processor than Xperia XZ1 Compact, and although they both have the same number of cores, the OnePlus 8 Pro also has a greater amount of RAM.
The OnePlus 8 Pro counts with a much sharper display than Xperia XZ1 Compact, because it has a lot better resolution of 1440 x 3168, a way larger screen and a lot greater count of pixels per inch in the display. OnePlus 8 Pro has a much better camera than Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, and although they both have the same (4K) video quality, the OnePlus 8 Pro also has a bigger aperture to capture better photos and video in low-light situations, a way bigger sensor capturing lot higher quality pictures, faster 60 fps video frame rates and a back facing camera with a lot better resolution.
OnePlus 8 Pro counts with a better storage for apps and games than Xperia XZ1 Compact, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity. OnePlus 8 Pro counts with a very superior battery life than Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, because it has a 67 percent larger battery size.
Although OnePlus 8 Pro is a better device, it costs more money than Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, giving up some specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your money.
