Comparison review
The Galaxy A8 (2018) has a score of 79.2, which is a little bit better than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact's global score of 79. Although Galaxy A8 (2018) and the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact were released with only a couple of months difference, the Galaxy A8 (2018) design is just a little bit heavier but a lot thinner.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact has a bit more powerful processing unit than Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018). Both have the same number of cores and the same RAM memory amount. Xperia XZ2 Compact features a slightly better display than Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018), because although it has a bit worse 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution and a quite smaller display, it also counts with a little bit higher display density.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has a bit bigger memory capacity for applications and games than Galaxy A8 (2018), and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory capacity, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact also has a slot for SD memory cards that admits a maximum of 400 GB. The Xperia XZ2 Compact takes much clearer pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018), because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not good for taking images and videos in low light environments, it also counts with a lot higher (4K) video resolution and a back-facing camera with a better 19 mega pixels resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) has just a little better battery duration than Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 5 percent more battery size.
