Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is just a bit better than Moto G8 Power, having a global score of 82.2 against 76. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium design is older, somewhat heavier and thicker than Moto G8 Power. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with an incredibly better looking screen than Motorola Moto G8 Power, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a lot better resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels and much more pixels per inch in the screen.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium has a little better hardware performance than Moto G8 Power, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a higher amount of RAM. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a bit better camera than Motorola Moto G8 Power, because although it has a smaller aperture which is worse for shooting photos and/or video in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and the same 30 fps video frame rates, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also counts with a bigger camera sensor providing a higher image quality and a back-facing camera with more mega pixels.

The Motorola Moto G8 Power counts with slightly more storage for games and applications than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, and although they both have equal 64 GB internal memory capacity, the Motorola Moto G8 Power also has an external memory slot that allows a maximum of 512 GB. The Motorola Moto G8 Power has a much longer battery lifetime than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity instead of 3540mAh.

Although Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Moto G8 Power, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Moto G8 Power. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, otherwise you can save some money and get the Moto G8 Power, letting go some specifications.
