Xperia XZ2 Premium has an overall score of 82.2, which is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge's global score of 78.1. Xperia XZ2 Premium is a newer cellphone than the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, although it's much thicker and a lot heavier. Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a much more vibrant display than Galaxy S7 edge, because it has more pixels per inch in the screen, a lot higher 2160 x 3840 pixels resolution and a little bigger display.
The Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, because it has 2 GB more RAM memory and a greater number of cores. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a much greater memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, because it has a slot for an external memory card that holds up to 400 GB and 64 GB internal storage capacity.
Xperia XZ2 Premium shoots a bit better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also counts with a larger back-facing camera sensor providing a higher image quality and a lot better 19 megapixels resolution camera in the back.
Galaxy S7 edge features a bit longer battery duration than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has a 3600mAh battery size.
Although Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, letting go some features and specs.
