Xperia XZ2 Premium is a bit better than Galaxy S8 Active, with an 82.2 score against 81.9. The Xperia XZ2 Premium is a newer phone than Galaxy S8 Active, but it is somewhat heavier and somewhat thicker. Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a much better display than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have a screen with the same size, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a higher amount of pixels per inch in the display and a higher 2160 x 3840px resolution.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a higher amount of RAM memory. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a little bit better storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 400 GB.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a bit better camera than Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is worse for low light photos and video, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same video resolution, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also counts with a bigger sensor and a back camera with way more mega-pixels.

Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it is way more expensive than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Xperia XZ2 Premium, else you can save some dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, resigning a couple features and specifications.
