Comparison review

The Xperia 1 is just a bit better than the Xperia XZ2 Premium, with an 82.6 score against 82.2. Xperia 1 is a newer phone, and it is also noticeably thinner and lighter than Xperia XZ2 Premium. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a bit sharper display than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a slightly better 2160 x 3840 resolution, a just a little better pixels number in each screen inch and much more brightness.

Xperia 1 and Xperia XZ2 Premium both have incredibly similar CPUs, both have the same number of cores and the same RAM amount. Xperia XZ2 Premium shoots clearer photographs and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also counts with a larger sensor which provides a higher image and video quality, a way more MP camera in the back and higher 30 fps video frame rates.

Sony Xperia 1 features a much greater memory to store more apps and games than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has 64 GB more internal storage capacity and a slot for external memory cards that supports a maximum of 512 GB. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has just a little better battery duration than Xperia 1, because it has a 6% bigger battery size.

Xperia 1 is not only the best phones in our comparison, but it's also cheaper, making it a very good choice.
