Xperia 5 III has a global score of 90.5, which is much better than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium's overall score of 82.2. Xperia 5 III's body is a lot newer, lighter and incredibly thinner than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a way better looking display than Sony Xperia 5 III, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a much higher 2160 x 3840 resolution and a way better amount of pixels per inch in the screen.
Xperia 5 III counts with a very superior memory for applications and games than Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has an external memory card slot that allows up to 1 TB and 256 GB internal storage. The Xperia 5 III has a CPU that's very similar to Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium's processing unit, and although the Xperia 5 III has more RAM memory, they both have a Octa-Core processing unit.
Xperia 5 III has superior battery duration than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has a 27 percent greater battery size. Xperia 5 III takes a little bit better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, because although it has a back camera with a way worse resolution and a worse (4K) video resolution, it also counts with a bigger aperture for better images in poorly lited environments and a way bigger back camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
