Xiaomi Mi 9 has an overall score of 83.2, which is a bit better than the Xperia XZ2 Premium's 82.2 global score. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is a noticeably thinner and notably lighter cellphone than Xperia XZ2 Premium, even though they were released with only 7 months difference. Xiaomi Mi 9's processing unit is just as good as the Xperia XZ2 Premium one, both have 8 CPU cores and the same RAM amount.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has an incredibly better looking screen than Xiaomi Mi 9, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with more screen brightness, a way higher 2160 x 3840px resolution and way more pixels per inch in the screen. The Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with more storage capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi 9, because although it has less internal memory, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that admits a maximum of 400 GB.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a bit superior battery life than Xiaomi Mi 9, because it has a 7 percent bigger battery capacity. The Xiaomi Mi 9 takes better photos and videos than Xperia XZ2 Premium, and although they both have a same size camera aperture and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Xiaomi Mi 9 also has a much more megapixels camera in the back, a larger back camera sensor shooting better quality videos and pictures and better video frame rate.
