Comparison review
The Xperia XZ2 Premium is just a bit better than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, getting a general score of 82.2 against 77.5. Even though the Xperia XZ2 Premium is newer than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, it's a lot thicker and heavier. Xperia XZ2 Premium features a little better processing power than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have 8 cores, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a higher amount of RAM.
Xperia XZ2 Premium has a much better screen than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a way higher pixels number per inch in the display and a way higher resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a slightly better memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Xperia XZ2 Premium, because although it has a slot for external memory cards that allows 272 GB smaller, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory.
Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a slightly better camera than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same video quality and the same 30 frames per second video frame rates, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a bigger aperture to capture better low-light captures and videos, a way bigger sensor taking more light and vivid colors and a lot better resolution back-facing camera.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a very superior battery performance than Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has a 50% bigger battery size.
Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, letting go a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your money.
