The Sony Xperia Z1 features a much better looking screen than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the Sony Xperia Z1 also counts with a just a little greater number of pixels per inch in the screen.

The Moto Z2 Play's processing unit is just as good as Xperia Z1's processor, because although the Moto Z2 Play has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, it also counts with more RAM and more 2.2 GHz cpu cores. The Moto Z2 Play counts with a little bit better camera than Xperia Z1, because although it has a much less MP back camera, it also counts with a way better 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a larger diafragm aperture to take better low-light captures and video.

Moto Z2 Play has a lot bigger memory capacity for applications and games than Sony Xperia Z1, because it has 48 GB more internal memory and a slot for SD memory cards that supports up to 1,95 TB. The Motorola Moto Z2 Play's battery lifetime is very similar to the battery performance in Xperia Z1.
