HTC U11 is a bit better than the Xperia Z1, with a 77.6 score against 72.8. Even though HTC U11 is just a little heavier than Xperia Z1, it's just a little bit thinner and also way newer. The Sony Xperia Z1 has a little bit better looking screen than HTC U11, although it has a little bit smaller display, a way lower 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and a bit lower display pixels density.
The HTC U11 counts with a way bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Sony Xperia Z1, because it has more internal storage capacity and an external memory card slot that allows up to 128 GB. The HTC U11 has just a little better processing power than Sony Xperia Z1, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, it also counts with more RAM memory and a greater number of faster cores.
The HTC U11 and Sony Xperia Z1 count with very similar batteries duration. The HTC U11 has a superior camera than Sony Xperia Z1, because although it has a tinier back camera sensor capturing worse quality videos and images and a camera with lot less MP, it also counts with a much higher video resolution and a bigger aperture to capture better captures and videos in poorly lited situations.
HTC U11 costs more money than the Xperia Z1, but you can get a better phone for that few extra dollars.
