Huawei P40 is much better than Sony Xperia Z1, with an 86.4 score against 72.8. The Huawei P40 counts with better battery performance than Xperia Z1, because it has a 3800mAh battery size instead of 3000mAh.
The Huawei P40 takes greater photos and videos than Xperia Z1, because it has a lot better (4K) video quality, a camera in the back with a much higher 50 mega pixels resolution, a bigger diafragm aperture for better photography in low-light situations and a lot larger camera sensor.
Huawei P40 costs a bit more money than Sony Xperia Z1, but it's still a good choice, as you can get a lot more features for that extra money.
