The LG V30S ThinQ is a a lot newer cellphone, and it is also thinner and a little lighter than Xperia Z1.

The Sony Xperia Z1 features a little bit better looking screen than LG V30S ThinQ, although it has a little smaller display, a bit worse pixels count per inch in the display and a way worse 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. The LG V30S ThinQ has a lot bigger storage for applications and games than Xperia Z1, because it has 96 GB more internal memory capacity and a SD card slot that holds up to 1,95 TB.

LG V30S ThinQ counts with a little faster CPU than Xperia Z1, because although it has doesn't have an additional GPU, it also counts with more cpu cores and 4 GB more RAM. LG V30S ThinQ has a bit longer battery lifetime than Sony Xperia Z1, because it has a 10 percent larger battery capacity. The LG V30S ThinQ takes much better photos and videos than Sony Xperia Z1, because although it has a way tinier camera sensor capturing less light and dull colors and a back facing camera with a much lower 16 mega-pixels resolution, it also counts with a larger aperture to capture better photography in poorly lited situations and a much better 3840x2160 video resolution.

Although LG V30S ThinQ is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xperia Z1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xperia Z1. If you want to save some money, you can buy Xperia Z1, and give up some specs and features, but you will get the most with your budget.
