Comparison review

Galaxy Alpha has a global score of 76.3, which is just a bit better than Xperia Z1's score of 72.8. These devices have the same Android 4.4.4 OS. The Galaxy Alpha construction is incredibly lighter and noticeably thinner than the Xperia Z1. The Xperia Z1 has a little more vivid display than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has a better pixels density, a lot better resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a little bit bigger screen.

Sony Xperia Z1 counts with a very superior memory capacity for applications and games than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same internal memory, the Sony Xperia Z1 also has a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 64 GB. The Galaxy Alpha features a little bit better performance than Xperia Z1. Both have a 450 MHz GPU, a 2 GB RAM and the same number of cores.

The Sony Xperia Z1 counts with a way better battery performance than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity instead of 1860mAh. The Galaxy Alpha counts with just a bit better camera than Sony Xperia Z1, because although it has a back camera with a much lower 12 mega pixels resolution and a tinier aperture which is worse for low light photos, it also counts with a way higher (4K) video resolution.

Although Galaxy Alpha is a better device, it is more expensive than Sony Xperia Z1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Sony Xperia Z1. So if you want that extra features, you can buy Galaxy Alpha, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Sony Xperia Z1, resigning some features and specifications.
