Galaxy C5 is a bit better than the Xperia Z1, getting a 76.4 score against 72.8. The Galaxy C5 is a way newer phone, and it is also noticeably thinner and somewhat lighter than the Xperia Z1. Both of these phones include Android operating system, but the Galaxy C5 has the newer 6.0 Marshmallow version and Xperia Z1 has Android 4.4.4, so it gives you a couple additional features.
Sony Xperia Z1 counts with a much better display than Galaxy C5, because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have exactly the same 1920 x 1080 resolution, the Sony Xperia Z1 also counts with a quite higher display pixel density. Galaxy C5 counts with a much bigger storage capacity to store more games and applications than Sony Xperia Z1, because it has 32 GB more internal storage capacity and a SD memory slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB.
The Sony Xperia Z1 has a bit faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy C5, because although it has a lower number of cores (but faster) and a lower amount of RAM memory, it also counts with an extra graphics co-processor. Galaxy C5 shoots slightly better photographs and videos than Sony Xperia Z1, because although it has a way worse 16 MP resolution back camera and a worse 1920x1080 video quality, it also counts with a bigger aperture to take better low light photography and videos.
The Xperia Z1 features a bit better battery life than Galaxy C5, because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity.
