Comparison review

The Galaxy Note 5 has a general score of 79.3, which is just a bit better than the Sony Xperia Z1's 72.8 overall score. These phones come with Android operating system, but Galaxy Note 5 has the newer 5.1 version and Sony Xperia Z1 has Android 4.4.4, so it counts with some additional features and a performance increase. Although Galaxy Note 5 is just a little heavier than the Sony Xperia Z1, it's thinner and also newer.

The Galaxy Note 5 has a bit more vivid display than Sony Xperia Z1, because it has a just a bit higher number of pixels per inch in the screen, a better resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a little bit bigger screen. Xperia Z1 counts with a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with more cores and a graphics processor.

Galaxy Note 5 features a bit more memory for apps and games than Sony Xperia Z1, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage. The Xperia Z1 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 count with extremely similar batteries duration. Galaxy Note 5 has a superior camera than Xperia Z1, because although it has a back camera with a way worse resolution and a smaller back-facing camera sensor giving a worse image quality, it also counts with a bigger aperture and a way higher 3840x2160 video resolution.

Although Galaxy Note 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Sony Xperia Z1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Sony Xperia Z1. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy Sony Xperia Z1, letting go a couple features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
