Galaxy Note8 is better than Xperia Z1, getting an 83 score against 72.8. Both of these devices include Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy Note8 has a newer 9.0 Pie version and Xperia Z1 has Android 4.4.4 version. The Galaxy Note8 construction has the same thickness than the Xperia Z1, but it's heavier.

The Xperia Z1 counts with just a bit better screen than Galaxy Note8, although it has a really smaller display, a just a little worse pixels density and a way worse 1920 x 1080 resolution. Galaxy Note8 has a little bit better processing power than Sony Xperia Z1, because although it has doesn't have a GPU, it also counts with a greater number of faster cores and more RAM memory.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with a much better memory capacity for applications and games than Xperia Z1, because it has an external SD slot that admits up to 256 GB and 64 GB internal storage capacity. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a lot more expensive than the Sony Xperia Z1, but it's still a good choice, because you can get a lot more features for that extra money.
