Comparison review

Samsung Galaxy S4 is slightly better than Sony Xperia Z1, getting a score of 76.1 against 72.8. Even though Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Sony Xperia Z1 were only released with a few months difference, Samsung Galaxy S4 is somewhat lighter and just a little bit thinner. Both phones in this comparison include Android OS (Operating System), but the Samsung Galaxy S4 has an older 4.4.2 version while Sony Xperia Z1 has Android 4.4.4.

The Xperia Z1 features just a bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy S4, and although they both have a 2 GB RAM memory and 4 cpu cores, the Xperia Z1 also has a better 450 MHz graphics processing unit. Galaxy S4 has a display that is very similar to the display in Sony Xperia Z1, they have a same size screen, exactly the same resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the same amount of pixels in each inch of screen.

The Xperia Z1 counts with a way bigger memory to store more games and applications than Galaxy S4, and although they both have a SD memory slot that supports a maximum of 64 GB, the Xperia Z1 also has 32 GB internal storage. Sony Xperia Z1 has just a little bit longer battery duration than Galaxy S4, because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity.

Samsung Galaxy S4 takes a bit better photographs and videos than Xperia Z1, although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not recommended for low-light captures and videos, a worse 1920x1080 video resolution, a much smaller sensor providing a much lower image quality and a much lower 13 MP resolution back facing camera.

Even being the best phone in our comparison, the Galaxy S4 is also a bargain compared to others, making buying this phone an easy decision.
