Xperia 5 II is better than Sony Xperia Z1, with an 87.2 score against 72.8. The Xperia 5 II body is a lot newer and just a bit thinner, but a bit heavier than the Sony Xperia Z1. The Xperia Z1 has a bit sharper screen than Xperia 5 II, although it has a bit lower resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a bit smaller screen and a just a bit lower pixel density.

The Sony Xperia 5 II features a little better processing power than Xperia Z1, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processor, it also counts with 6 GB more RAM memory and a greater number of cores. The Sony Xperia 5 II captures way better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia Z1, because although it has a lot less mega-pixels camera in the back, it also counts with a bigger aperture, a way bigger back camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a much better 3840x2160 (4K) video definition.

Sony Xperia 5 II has a superior memory capacity for apps and games than Xperia Z1, because it has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports a maximum of 1000 GB and 128 GB internal storage. The Xperia 5 II has longer battery lifetime than Sony Xperia Z1, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 3000mAh.

Although Sony Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Sony Xperia Z1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Sony Xperia Z1. If you want to save some money, you can get the Sony Xperia Z1, and give up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your savings.
