Comparison review

The Sony Xperia Z5 is slightly better than the Sony Xperia Z1, having a score of 77.6 against 72.8. Both of these phones use Android OS (operating system), but Sony Xperia Z5 has the newer 5.1 version while Sony Xperia Z1 has Android 4.4.4 version, so it gives you some nice extra features and some performance improvements. Sony Xperia Z5's body is newer, thinner and just a little bit lighter than the Sony Xperia Z1.

Sony Xperia Z5 has a screen that is very similar to the display in Xperia Z1, because although the Sony Xperia Z5 has a little lower pixel amount in each display inch, and they both have the same 1920 x 1080px resolution, it also counts with a little bit bigger display. Xperia Z5 has a bit superior processing unit than Sony Xperia Z1, and although they both have a 450 megahertz graphics co-processor, the Xperia Z5 also has a greater number of cores (although slower) and a higher amount of RAM.

Xperia Z5 features a bigger memory to install applications and games than Xperia Z1, and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Xperia Z5 also has a slot for external memory cards that supports a maximum of 200 GB. Sony Xperia Z5 shoots much better photos and videos than Sony Xperia Z1, and although they both have a 0.43 inches back-facing camera sensor, the Sony Xperia Z5 also has a larger aperture to capture better images in low light situations, a back-facing camera with a higher resolution and a much higher 3840x2160 video resolution.

The Xperia Z1 counts with just a little bit longer battery performance than Xperia Z5, because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity instead of 2900mAh.

Although Xperia Z5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xperia Z1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xperia Z1. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the Xperia Z1, letting go a few specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
