Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 8 has a general score of 77.4, which is a little bit better than the Xperia Z3's score of 77.3. The Huawei Mate 8 construction is newer and somewhat thinner, but just a little bit heavier than Xperia Z3. The Xperia Z3 features a lot better screen than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have the same exact 1920 x 1080px resolution, the Xperia Z3 also counts with a bit greater pixel number in each inch of screen.
Xperia Z3 features a bit more powerful processing unit than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a lower number of cores (although faster) and a smaller amount of RAM memory, it also counts with an extra graphics co-processor. Huawei Mate 8 counts with much more memory capacity for games and applications than Xperia Z3, and although they both have a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 128 GB, the Huawei Mate 8 also has more internal memory.
The Xperia Z3 has a much better camera than Huawei Mate 8, and although they both have a F2 camera aperture, the Xperia Z3 also has a lot higher 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and a way better resolution back camera. Huawei Mate 8 has improved battery duration than Xperia Z3, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 3200mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Sony Xperia Z3, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Sony Xperia Z3. If you want to save some dollars, you can get the Sony Xperia Z3, letting go a few features and specifications, but you will get the most out of your savings.
