The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a bit better than the Xperia Z3, having a overall score of 79.3 against 77.3. Samsung Galaxy Note 5's body is newer and thinner, but also a bit heavier than the Xperia Z3. Both phones in this review have Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has the newer 5.1 version and Xperia Z3 has Android 4.4.4.

Sony Xperia Z3 features a little more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, although it has a just a little worse display density, a bit smaller screen and a way worse resolution of 1920 x 1080. The Xperia Z3 counts with slightly more memory capacity to store more apps and games than Galaxy Note 5, because although it has 0 less internal memory, it also counts with a slot for SD memory cards that admits up to 128 GB.

Sony Xperia Z3 features a better CPU than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because although it has 1 GB lesser RAM memory, it also counts with 3 more cores and a GPU. The Sony Xperia Z3 counts with just a little better battery life than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because it has a 7 percent more battery size. Xperia Z3 features a slightly better camera than Galaxy Note 5, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not favorable for low light images and video, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video definition, the Xperia Z3 also counts with a back facing camera with way more megapixels and a larger sensor which offers a higher photo and video quality.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Sony Xperia Z3, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Sony Xperia Z3. If you want to save some money, you can get the Sony Xperia Z3, letting go a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
