Comparison review

Samsung Galaxy S5 has an overall score of 80.8, which is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia Z3's 77.3 global score. Both of these phones include Android OS (Operating System), but the Samsung Galaxy S5 has an older 4.4.2 version and Sony Xperia Z3 has Android 4.4.4. Samsung Galaxy S5's body is a bit thinner and lighter than the Sony Xperia Z3, even though both were released with only a couple months difference.

The Galaxy S5 has a processor that's very similar to the Xperia Z3 one, and although the Galaxy S5 has a much better graphics co-processor running at 500 MHz, they both have the same number of cores and a 3 GB RAM memory. Galaxy S5 counts with a slightly better looking screen than Xperia Z3, because although it has a bit smaller screen, and they both have the same resolution of 1920 x 1080px, the Galaxy S5 also counts with a greater pixels amount in each inch of screen.

The Xperia Z3 takes clearer pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy S5, and although they both have the same (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Xperia Z3 also has a bigger sensor which offers a higher image and video quality, a lot better 20.7 MP resolution camera and a bigger diafragm aperture to capture better images and video in low light environments.

The Galaxy S5's memory capacity to store more apps and games is just as good as the Xperia Z3 one, they have the same 32 GB internal storage and a SD memory card expansion slot that admits up to 128 GB. Sony Xperia Z3 features a bit better battery duration than Galaxy S5, because it has a 3200mAh battery capacity.

Although Samsung Galaxy S5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Xperia Z3, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xperia Z3. If you prefer to save some money, you can get Xperia Z3, and give up a couple features, but you'll get the most with your savings.
