Galaxy S6 Active has a general score of 80.9, which is a bit better than the Xperia Z3's global score of 77.3. These phones include Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy S6 Active has newer 5.0 version while Xperia Z3 has Android 4.4.4 version, so it provides the user lots of additional features and performance optimizations.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Active counts with a little bit better processing power than Sony Xperia Z3, and although they both have a 3 GB RAM memory, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active also has a 64 bits CPU, a faster graphics processor running at 650 megahertz and 4 more cores. Samsung Galaxy S6 Active features a bit better looking display than Xperia Z3, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with more pixels per inch of display and a better resolution of 2560 x 1440.
The Xperia Z3 counts with a superior memory to install applications and games than Galaxy S6 Active. Both of them have exactly the same internal storage. Samsung Galaxy S6 Active counts with just a little bit longer battery life than Sony Xperia Z3, because it has a 9 percent greater battery capacity.
Xperia Z3 features a very superior camera than Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not favorable for taking photographs or video in low-light situations, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video definition, the Xperia Z3 also counts with a way more megapixels back facing camera and a larger back camera sensor which gives a higher image and video quality.
Although Galaxy S6 Active is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xperia Z3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xperia Z3. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy S6 Active, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Xperia Z3, resigning some specs and features.
