Comparison review

The Galaxy Note8 has an overall score of 83, which is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia Z4v's general score of 78.8. The Galaxy Note8 is a heavier device than Sony Xperia Z4v, but they have the same thickness. Both phones in this review have Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Note8 has newer 9.0 Pie version and Sony Xperia Z4v has Android 5.1, providing the user some nice extra features and performance optimizations.

Xperia Z4v features just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, and they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia Z4v also counts with an additional graphics processor. Xperia Z4v counts with a sharper screen than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a quite smaller screen and a little worse 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, it also counts with a quite higher pixels density.

The Sony Xperia Z4v counts with a slightly better camera than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same (4K) video resolution, the Sony Xperia Z4v also counts with a back facing camera with lot more mega-pixels and a bigger camera sensor which gives a better photo and video quality.

The Galaxy Note8 has a much greater storage for games and applications than Sony Xperia Z4v, because it has 64 GB internal memory capacity and a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 256 GB. Galaxy Note8 counts with just a bit better battery performance than Xperia Z4v, because it has 3300mAh of battery capacity.

Although Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xperia Z4v, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xperia Z4v. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy the Xperia Z4v, letting go some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
