Comparison review
Huawei Mate 8 is slightly better than the Xperia Z5 Compact, getting a overall score of 77.4 against 75.1. Although the Huawei Mate 8 and Xperia Z5 Compact were only released with a few months difference, the Huawei Mate 8 design is a lot heavier but thinner. The Xperia Z5 Compact features a little bit better performance than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, and they both have 8 cores, the Xperia Z5 Compact also counts with an extra graphics processing unit.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact has just a bit better looking display than Huawei Mate 8, although it has a just a bit less pixels per display inch, a way worse 1280 x 720 resolution and a lot smaller display. The Huawei Mate 8 has a superior storage capacity for applications and games than Xperia Z5 Compact, because although it has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 128 GB against 200 GB, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory.
Xperia Z5 Compact takes better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 8, because it has a larger diafragm aperture for better low-light images and video, a much higher (4K) video resolution and a back camera with way more MP. Huawei Mate 8 counts with a much longer battery performance than Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xperia Z5 Compact, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xperia Z5 Compact. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get Xperia Z5 Compact, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your money.
