Comparison review
Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, getting a 78.7 score against 75.1. Huawei Mate 9 Pro's body is newer and thinner, but also somewhat heavier than Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. Both of these devices work with Android OS (operating system), but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a more recent 8.0 Oreo version and Sony Xperia Z5 Compact has Android 5.1 version, so it provides you a couple nice extra features.
Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and Huawei Mate 9 Pro both feature incredibly similar CPUs, because although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has doesn't have an additional GPU, and they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, it also counts with 4 GB more RAM. Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a little bit better screen than Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has a much better resolution of 1440 x 2560, a lot better screen density and a bigger screen.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact counts with a superior camera than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact also has a larger diafragm aperture, a way larger camera sensor providing a way higher image quality and a much more megapixels back camera.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a quite bigger storage for apps and games than Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 96 GB more internal memory capacity. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a much better battery duration than Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Xperia Z5 Compact, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xperia Z5 Compact. If you want to save some dollars, you can buy Xperia Z5 Compact, letting go a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
