Galaxy Note Fan Edition is just a bit better than the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, getting a overall score of 80.4 against 75.1. Even though Galaxy Note Fan Edition is somewhat heavier than Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, it's somewhat thinner and also newer. The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact features just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM, and they both have 8 cores, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact also counts with an extra GPU.
Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition counts with a little bit better looking screen than Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has a much greater display density, a much better 1440 x 2560 resolution and a larger display. The Galaxy Note Fan Edition features a superior memory to store more games and applications than Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has an external SD slot that allows up to 256 GB and more internal storage.
Sony Xperia Z5 Compact captures much clearer photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not good for taking images and/or video in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact also counts with a much higher 23 mega-pixels resolution back camera and a larger back-facing camera sensor.
The Galaxy Note Fan Edition features longer battery lifetime than Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has a 19 percent bigger battery size.
Galaxy Note Fan Edition is a lot more expensive than Xperia Z5 Compact, but you can get a better phone for that extra dollars.
