Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has a global score of 78.1, which is slightly better than Xperia Z5 Compact's global score of 75.1. These phones use Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has newer 8.0 Oreo version while Xperia Z5 Compact has Android 5.1 version, so it offers some extra features and some performance improvements. The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge construction is heavier but thinner than Xperia Z5 Compact, and both of them were released only 6 months apart.

The Xperia Z5 Compact features a little bit better performance than Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has 2 GB less RAM, it also counts with 4 more processing cores and an extra graphics co-processor. Samsung Galaxy S7 edge features a bit sharper screen than Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has a lot greater pixels density, a bigger display and a much higher 1440 x 2560 resolution.

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge's memory capacity for games and applications is just as good as Xperia Z5 Compact's one, they have the same 32 GB internal storage and a slot for an SD memory card that holds up to 200 GB. The Galaxy S7 edge has a much better battery performance than Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has a 3600mAh battery capacity.

Xperia Z5 Compact features a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not nice for capturing photos and videos in low-light situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Xperia Z5 Compact also counts with a bigger back-facing camera sensor providing a better image quality and a camera in the back with a lot better 23 mega-pixels resolution.

The Galaxy S7 edge not only is the best devices in this comparison, but it's also by far the cheapest one.
