Comparison review
The Xiaomi Mi Max is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, getting a 77.5 score against 75.1. Xiaomi Mi Max's construction is somewhat thinner but heavier than the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, and both were released only 9 months apart. The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact has a bit more powerful processor than Xiaomi Mi Max, because although it has less RAM memory, and they both have 8 cores, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact also counts with an additional GPU.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact counts with just a bit better display than Xiaomi Mi Max, although it has a lot smaller display, a lot lower resolution of 1280 x 720px and a little worse display pixel density. Sony Xperia Z5 Compact takes clearer pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max, and although they both have the same (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact also has a back facing camera with a much better 23 mega-pixels resolution and a larger diafragm aperture for better low-light images and video.
Xiaomi Mi Max counts with a much bigger storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has 96 GB more internal memory and a slot for an external memory card that supports a maximum of 256 GB. Xiaomi Mi Max counts with a really longer battery duration than Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has a 4850mAh battery capacity instead of 2700mAh.
