Comparison review
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has an overall score of 76, which is a little bit better than the Xperia Z5 Compact's 75.1 general score. Even though the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is somewhat heavier than the Xperia Z5 Compact, it's somewhat thinner and also newer. Both phones in this review come with Android OS (operating system), but Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a newer 6.0 Marshmallow version and Xperia Z5 Compact has Android 5.1.
Xperia Z5 Compact has a bit better processing power than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with 4 more cpu cores and an extra graphics processor. Xperia Z5 Compact has just a bit better looking screen than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, although it has a way worse 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, a little bit smaller screen and a little worse pixel quantity per inch of display.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 counts with a quite bigger storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 96 GB more internal memory. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a superior battery performance than Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, because it has a 51 percent greater battery size.
Xperia Z5 Compact counts with a much better camera than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and although they both have a back-facing camera with a 23 mega pixels, the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Xperia Z5 Compact also has a bigger back camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a bigger camera aperture to capture better captures and video in poorly lited environments.
Although Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is a better device, it is more expensive than Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, giving up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your savings.
