Motorola Edge 40 Pro has an overall score of 83.4, which is a bit better than Xperia Z5 Premium's overall score of 79.8. Although the Motorola Edge 40 Pro is notably newer than the Xperia Z5 Premium, it's a little thicker and a bit heavier. Both phones in this review work with Android OS (operating system), but Motorola Edge 40 Pro has newer 13 version and Xperia Z5 Premium has Android 5.1.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features a much powerful processing unit than Motorola Edge 40 Pro, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM, and they both have 8 processing cores, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with a graphics processor. The Xperia Z5 Premium has a lot better screen than Motorola Edge 40 Pro, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a lot more pixels per screen inch and a way higher 3840 x 2160 resolution.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro counts with a greater camera than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, and although they both have the same diafragm aperture, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro also has a lot larger back-facing camera sensor shooting lot higher quality videos and pictures, a camera with much more MP and a way better 7680x4320 video quality.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro has a way bigger storage capacity to install games and applications than Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 224 GB more internal memory capacity. Motorola Edge 40 Pro features longer battery lifetime than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a 34 percent larger battery capacity.
