The Samsung Galaxy A42 is a bit better than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, having a score of 87 against 79.8. The Samsung Galaxy A42 is a much newer phone than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, although it is a little heavier and just a little bit thicker. Both devices in this review have Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy A42 has a newer 11 version while Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has Android 5.1 version, so it provides you some additional features and performance improvements.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a much sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy A42, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a way better 3840 x 2160px resolution and a much greater display pixel density. Xperia Z5 Premium counts with just a little better processing power than Samsung Galaxy A42, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, and they both have 8 CPU cores, the Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with an extra graphics processing unit.
The Galaxy A42 has a superior storage capacity to install applications and games than Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a SD memory slot that allows up to 1000 GB and 128 GB internal memory. The Galaxy A42 has a very superior battery duration than Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3430mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 features just a bit better camera than Xperia Z5 Premium, and although they both have the same video frame rates, a same size camera aperture and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Samsung Galaxy A42 also has a back facing camera with way more mega pixels.
