Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition has an overall score of 80.4, which is a little bit better than the Xperia Z5 Premium's 79.8 overall score. Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition's design has the same thickness than the Xperia Z5 Premium, but it is just a bit lighter. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features a much sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way better screen pixel density and a lot better 3840 x 2160 resolution.
Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy Note Fan Edition, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM, and they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with an additional GPU. Xperia Z5 Premium takes much better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not so good for shooting photos and videos in low-light environments, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with a bigger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a lot higher 23 megapixels resolution back facing camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition counts with a lot bigger storage capacity for applications and games than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a slot for an external memory card that allows up to 256 GB and 32 GB more internal storage. Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a bit better battery life than Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition, because it has a 3430mAh battery capacity.
Although Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition is a better device, it costs a bit more than Xperia Z5 Premium, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Xperia Z5 Premium. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get Xperia Z5 Premium, letting go a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
